Real Madrid have decided on extending the contract of goalkeeper Andriy Lunin on a long term with the club.

The goalkeeper was a huge part of the team after over taking Kepa Arrizabalaga who joined on loan from Chelsea last season.

Andriy Lunin have been given a new contract by Real Madrid who want to keep him with them as long as possible.

However he will be their backup to their number one who they hope he can step up when give the opportunity to handle the main role.

The new contract will see the keeper deal carry on for four more years before another decision will be taken concerning his future.

"Real Madrid agree on new deal for Andriy Lunin valid until June 2028.

"Current deal was due to expire in June 2025 he’s now accepted a new four year deal, as Marca reported.

"He’s still the backup for Thibaut Courtois and also in the list for Best Goalkeeper candidates at Ballon d’Or.
