Crystal Palace 2-2 Leicester City: Mateta Late Penalty Rescue Points For Eagles



Crystal Palace played a 2-2 draw against Leicester City thanks to Mateta's late penalty for Eagles.

Crystal Palace and Leicester City played out an exciting 2-2 draw, with Jean-Philippe Mateta's late penalty earning the Eagles a vital point. 

Leicester City took the lead twice in the match, but Palace showed resilience, coming back both times. 

Mateta's cool finish from the spot in the dying minutes ensured the home side shared the spoils, preventing Leicester from leaving with all three points. 

The result leaves both teams battling in the mid-table as they continue their campaigns.

It was Jammie Vardy who scored the opening goal in the 21st minutes through an assist from Wilfred Ndidi.

Mavadidi doubled the lead for the Foxes in the 46th minutes with yet again another assist from Ndidi.

Mateta was able to pull his side back into the match with a goal from the 47th minutes giving them hope of a comeback.

His late penalty was a deciding moment which saw Crystal Palace hold Leicester City to a 2-2 draw.
