Virgil van Dijk Voice Out Frustration Despite Liverpool Win

Virgil van Dijk has admitted feeling "frustrated" following Liverpool's first defeat of the season, despite their strong response in the Champions League.

The Reds had enjoyed an impressive start under new manager Arne Slot.

However, their unbeaten run was halted by Nottingham Forest, with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goal handing Liverpool a disappointing defeat at Anfield.

Although Liverpool responded well with a commanding 3-1 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League, Van Dijk was still irritated by the team's first loss of the season.

Christian Pulisic's early goal initially made the match challenging, but Liverpool fought back to secure a convincing win.

What He Said:

“Obviously it was very disappointing at the weekend in so many ways, especially the last part of that game.

“It was very frustrating to witness and be part of, but we had a chance to put it right and I think we did.

“Like I said, a shaky start with the goal that we conceded; that started from the side, we were late, everywhere we were late and they capitalised on it.

“But after that, the way we stayed calm and kept playing and kept looking for the solution, it was very good to see.”
