Frenkie de Jong Return To Training After Long Term Injury

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong's fitness status remains uncertain, with no clear timeline for his return to action.

On Monday morning, he made some progress in his recovery.

The club had advised the Dutch midfielder to undergo surgery, which would have sidelined him for the remainder of the year.

However, de Jong has chosen a more conservative approach to his treatment for now.

After attempting to increase the intensity of his training last week, he had to scale back once more.

This week, de Jong resumed partial training with the squad, according to Sport, participating in part of the session alongside his teammates.

He was joined by Gavi, who has now trained with the group for a portion of the last four sessions.

It's still uncertain when de Jong will return or if surgery can be avoided.

The 27-year-old has been out of action for five months, following an injury against Real Madrid in April.

Despite efforts to return for Euro 2024 with the Netherlands, a setback forced him to miss the tournament.
